Anyone interested in NDAA listen to the first 40 minutes of this.
Adam and John of No Agenda are at it again! As usual, the pointed out that people are being distracted to the detainment/custody is itizens in the bill. Since we’re all focused on that, that’s a perfect opportunity to slip other things in.
Some highlights
- Rape of children under 12 is rape of minor. If you rape a child over 12, but under 16 yet had no knowledge of their age being 12 or under then it’s just rape against an adult.
- The changing of the term Psychological Operations (Psy Ops) to Military Intelligence Support Operations (MISO)
- The audit of the Pentagon budget pushed back to 2017
- Authorization of more drones within US airspace.
- Building bases in Yemen and Kenya
- Funds for an emergency response in the Middle East.

NDAA Shreds The Constitution
When I see things like this happening it just baffles me. This is why I voted for President Obama. He apparently knows the US Constitution, but day after day continues to violate it just as badly as Presidents former. I’m disappointed Mr. Obama. Perhaps my vote will go elsewhere in 2012.

A Bloomberg survey of economists concludes President Obama’s $447 billion jobs plan “would help avoid a return to recession by maintaining growth and pushing down the unemployment rate next year.”
The last thing Republicans want is for Obama to be able to take credit…
Nothing anyone does will save the economy.

The fact is that you can’t keep continously spending money. Ideally, money is cut from Defense for this, but that’s not the case (even though the damn thing hasn’t been written yet, so who knows) because there are too many people that get campaign money from folks related to the DoD. It would be irresponsible to support a bill that you know is going to do little to help the economy. Spend time rewriting the tax code or using executive order cutting the size of DHS and DOD.

There would be a LOT less Tea Baggers in Congress right now, if more people had voted.
I’ve been trying to drill this into people’s heads for, like, forever.
I remember when GW got “elected” back in 2000 and NPR was interviewing all these college students who where saying things like “It doesn’t matter who the president is, it doesn’t affect my life.”
I was enraged. I feel voter apathy is a HUGE reason we’re in the mess we are now. When only the most “extreme” vote, you get more extreme candidates.
